Instafreebie…ermm…freebie, plus another Giveaway

My inactivity on the blog can only mean one thing. I’ve slotted back into the corporate world.

Not such a bad thing to be honest. No one said this writing lark would pay the bills anyway. While adjusting to early rises and having less time to paint the page with the voices in my head, I’m going to be investing more time giving away my books for free.

Because, I really don’t need the money!ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

For a quick read, downloadable in any digital format, you can check out my science fiction short story, ‘Spectrum‘ which was well received despite the lack of fanfare to announce its arrival to the world. It’s available through the good peeps at Instafreebieย at this link.

My debut novel, Pathfindersshe that received a five-star from an Amazon Top 500 Reviewer no less (clears throat) – can be downloaded for Kindle for FREE in the next 48 hours from either the Amazon US, UK or other regional sites.

I will be giving away a brand new Amazon Kindle device in my next blog post. Just waiting for my first paycheck before I invest in that, and run the competition. Stay tuned or sign up to my newsletter where I’ll be giving plenty of notice, as well as news on other giveaways.

Also, my author friend Liz Durano has a new book out. For the romance buffs out there, looking for a fresh new voice on the scene, you need look no further than Lizย with, ‘Everything She Ever Wanted‘. Check outย her site for more.

I’ll probably feature less books/self-publishing-related blog posts in the future. I’m conscious of boring the pants of people, or coming across as a little ‘salesy’.

Til next time.

  • I was just wondering what you’ve been up to and glad to see you back! Hope the corporate world doesn’t leave you too exhausted from blogging a bit here and there ๐Ÿ™‚ And thank you so much for the shout-out! Book launches sure are nerve-wracking, aren’t they?

    • Can’t get rid of me that easily ๐Ÿ˜‰ Yeah, it’s hard work. I’ve been watching your own one from afar, especially through Facebook, and it looks like you’re getting good traction. Half-way through my 300 dollar paid promotion so far, so might share the results of that with you privately for best practice if you like – or on the facebook group you pointed me in the direction of which has been interesting. Keep us updated!

      • Definitely would love to see how your paid promotion did when it’s all done! Email would be great – or chat! I chat a lot now on FB – hard to believe LOL

And there are other FB groups, too, for Instafreebie though it’s really for growing your newsletter more than anything (I’ll find out the results of that newsletter thing tomorrow morning LOL). I’m getting ready to tackle a good Irish mystery now ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Welcome back (to blogging and the entertaining rat race most of us partake in so we can do the fun stuff). I enjoyed (is that quite the right word for a slice of jarring near future dystopia?) Spectrum and have just downloaded Pathfinders.
One of the problems of blogging with other authors is that I have to actually find time to read all the material I’m collecting!

      • Oh mate, you have to take control! Don’t let your phone dictate what is important (I keep telling my kids this but they’re too busy looking at their phones to listen).
My phone is set to take calls or texts. Data and Wifi is only turned on when I want to dip into email / news / social media, so it’s all on my terms and my timetable. It also makes my battery last a damn sight longer too.
(Apart from when I spend about 3 hours at a time bouncing between websites instead of doing something bloody useful instead. Doh.)

  • I like your books/self-publishing-related blog posts! I love getting a behind the scene look at how things are going for you. I haven’t published yet, but want to learn as much about the whole thing as I can now. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Congrats on joining the corporate world…? I think that’s good, right?
Nice idea to run a giveaway. I hope it’s successful! I’m so behind on my email post notifications that I’ll probably miss it! ๐Ÿ˜‚
