Oh Yeah. That Marketing Thing.

IMG-20180807-WA0003SO, I RELEASED A NEW NOVEL TODAY.

My fifth. Can you believe that?

I haven’t done too much in the way of promotion, because, well…I’ve done that in the past, thrown a lot of money at it, and didn’t get much return on the old investment of either time or energy.

Instead, I’m employing a slightly different method – one that I think many indie authors might be better served doing (instead of gaming algorithms and what not).

Write a bloody good book.

Yep. That’s about it.

Best marketing you can have is when people freely refer it to their friends without your prodding them in the back. Read more

Sigil is Free. That is All. For Now…

Site.SigSHORT UPDATE TO ANNOUNCE that my Irish based thriller SIGIL is free to download via Amazon US/UK for the next couple of days.

It features the Catholic Parish priest Fr Tom Regan in what I can now officially confirm is his FIRST outing (more on that shortly).

A suicide in the small sleepy village of Ballygorm raises Regan’s suspicion.

But he’s alone in his scepticism. Using his amateur sleuthing he uncovers foul play and finds that in the outwardly pious and tight-knit community, they are hiding a killer in a village where everyone’s a suspect.

I wrote this back in 2016 while I was in Medellin, Colombia.

I’ve actually come full circle and am back here again, and Regan too! I’m letting him off the leash for a second adventure at the end of this month.

Really excited to be telling you more about YAGE soon.

Anyway, you can get your hit of Regan on the following links:

If you have read it, enjoyed it and not yet left a review – it’s SUPER EASY to do so. Just scroll down until you see the reviews and hit ‘Write a Customer Review’.

Couldn’t be easier and you’d be doing me a huge favour too. More reviews typically help with my marketing efforts and reaching a bigger audience.

It also plasters a big shit grin on my face for a solid 24 hours.

Deflecting/Accepting Criticism

THERE HAVE BEEN MANY TIMES since the publication of my first book, fifteen months ago, that I’ve received feedback about my stories.

That has ranged from the almost orgasmic (“wonderful, evocative writing that haunted me upon finishing it.“) to the downright disgusted (“blasphemy…offensive to God.“). Read more

The Struggle is the Juggle

THERE WAS A TIME not that long ago where I would wake up between 9 and 10 in the morning, grab my laptop and make the short walk in the blistering heat to the nearby mall.

Passing the smoothie bar to get my daily limonada de coco, I’d arrive at the coffee shop, park myself down in the corner directly under the cool fan and sit in that one spot for many hours until hunger drummed on my belly and said, “Um…buddy?Read more
